I am now on day 7-10 (I think) free of cymbalta. It is not pleasant that I don't know if I'm cranky because of the morning daily dispense patient (now gone) or sinus issues (just did the nose sprays) or cymbalta withdrawal symptom(s). Tom + Google have not been approving of my abrupt quitting, but I have been very irregular with cymbalta in the last 6 months and I am not about to go on proper discontinuation protocol now.
One thing I haven't thought about quitting cymbalta: I don't know this new person that I would become - will it feel emotionally raw? Do I have to be on guard all the time? I have decided to quit because I feel like it is time - I am no longer struggling to become a pharmacist or living at home, going rotten from the inside. I always tell my patients that anxiety/depression meds will give space/time to be more resilient (with the implication being that it is not the panacea) - I think I am in a much better place, so I will follow my own advice and quit.
(I also realize that this is a low-risk maneuver: if I think I still need to be on cymbalta after a few weeks, then I'll be back on it)
Morning research folder:
- Hugging Face
- I've always wondered how one re-ranks passages to answer questions: now I know
- Reminder to add summarization tool for Content Server
- s3cmd - Akamai/Linode documentation
- Can encrypt when upload, decrypt when download
- For private objects, a private URL can be generated
- s3cmd sync
1:15pm - eating and eating and eating. My hands are cold? Some interesting new Korean noodles (ooh!) - will try. Apparently raining all day starting 3pm (no umbrella) - really should buy that bag to bring everyday essentials... everyday.
Just realized that I might not be getting paid in full from a pharmacy - will need to track that - I'm not great at talking about money, so hopefully this is one-time thing.
(And another pharmacy - entirely no payment, due to understandable factor - will initiate that conversation tonight)
7:34pm - sitting and processing prescriptions leisurely. Outside is thunder and rain = lull in traffic
Ugh backend.pharmacybuddy.info not working in Shoppers network ("newly registered domain") - should monitor to see how long that lasts
Need to see if a large language model trained specifically on medical literature would be better for PharmacyBuddy than a generic LLM- Google says yes, and I concur based on how LLMs work
Concept
- A portable (battery-run) triangular translator device
- Two e-ink displays, each facing different side
- How fast can those displays be? - can they update as one speaks?
- Directional microphones
- No keyboard = speech recognition should be as accurate as possible
- General LLM (not medical LLM) to do translation
- A dial to change language?
- A button (on either side) to start talking, a button to delete the last part spoken?
- A thermal printer at the top to print the conversation to take home
Concept - individual medication
For compact data presentation, I'd want it to be a combination of:
- ODB formulary data (eligibility/LU code)
- Drug Shortage Database

I ran into this article a day after I thought about the project.
